FF
Round 1 is complete and just like the season we had several close games.

In the Championship Playoff bracket #1 Berlin Bashers continued their dominance and eeked out a win against #8 Berlin TDnators. #2 Wiener Schnitzels were utterly destroyed by #7 Berlin Cowboys, who choose the right time to have the highest scoring game of the entire 2016 season in route to a blowout victory over their division rivals. #3 Berlin Ruthless had a comfortable win over the maligned #6 Marburg Crusaders who had a horrendous showing and barely broke 80 points for the week. Meanwhile #4 Gehrden Warriors were taken down by #5 Stockerau Bulldogs in a close match in which QBs from both teams drastically underperformed.

Disappointing scoring was the calling card for most of round 1, with the exception of the Cowboys who had a perfect lineup and 10+ points contributed from every position on his active roster.

In the next round the top two scoring teams for the season will face-off, with the Cowboys (1st overall points scored) will take on the top seeded Bashers (2nd overall points scored). The two teams faced eachother only once during the regular season, with the Bashers winning their week 4 matchup by a comfortable margin, 136.2 to 108.4.
Meanwhile the Bulldogs will try to duplicate their week 6 success against the Ruthless, in which they pulled out a 135.6 to 110.2 victory.

The Schnitzels will face the Warriors as both teams look to avenge their loss from the first round and end the season on a high note. The winner will take home the 1.07 rookie pick.
Likewise the Crusaders will face the TDnators for the chance to take home the 1.05 rookie pick.

In the Rookie Draft bracket #9 Berlin 49ers pulled out a tight victory against #10 Senefelder Spatzen, earning a spot in the final game and a chance to take home the coveted 1.01 rookie pick. Their opponent will be the #12 Marburg Gamblers who squeezed past the #11 Red Mambas Hannover. With their losses the Spatzen and Mambas will face eachother with the 1.03 rookie pick at stake.

The results and upcoming schedule for both playoff brackets are as follows:

Round 1
Championship Playoff:
P1: #1 BEB vs. #8 BTD (109.2 - 102.1)
P2: #2 WIE vs. #7 BCB (107.9 - 181.9)
P3: #3 BER vs. #6 MRC (103.7 - 80.1)
P4: #4 GWS vs. #5 STB (104.9 - 110.2)

Rookie Draft Playoff:
D1: #9 B49 vs. #10 SEN (96 - 93.8)
D2: #11 RED vs. #12 MGS (86.9 - 92.3)

Round 2
Championship Playoff:
P5: #1 BEB vs. #7 BCB
P6: #3 BER vs. #5 STB

Rookie Draft Playoff:
D3: #9 B49 vs. #12 MGS (1.01 rookie pick)
D4: #10 SEN vs. #11 RED (1.03 rookie pick)
D5: #6 MRC vs. #7 BTD (1.05 rookie pick)
D6: #2 WIE vs. #4 GWS (1.07 rookie pick)
Round 2 is complete and it was simply crazy. The point differential for both semi-final matchups equaled one point, with one game relying upon the never before used playoff tie-breaker rules to find the victor.

The first game of the Championship playoffs saw the #1 Berlin Bashers facing the #7 Berlin Cowboys. This matchup pitted the top scoring offenses of the regular season against one another and it did not disappoint. The game turned out to be a thriller in which every point mattered. The Bashers emerged victorious by one point, knocking off the top scoring team of the regular season and booking themselves a spot in the championship game. The Cowboys have one last chance to end their season on a winning note by playing for third place against the loser of the second semi-final matchup.

While the first game definitely was a nail-biter, it paled in comparison to the nerve-racking second game of the semi-finals. The second matchup saw the #3 Berlin Ruthless take on the #5 Stockerau Bulldogs. Coming into Monday night's game the Bulldogs had a 14.6 point lead over the higher seeded Ruthless. However Ruthless had the resurgent DeSean Jackson matching up against a weak Carolina secondary in what promised to be a good matchup. Jackson did his job for Ruthless and scored exactly 14.6 points, bringing the teams to an unprecedented PLAYOFF TIE! For the first time in NSFF history the playoff tie-breaker rules were needed to separate the two teams and declare a winner.

§ 4.7 of the league rules states:

Zitat:Tiebreaker (Playoffs):
1. Anzahl Touchdowns in diesem Spiel der Offensiv-Spieler gesamt
2. Anzahl Touchdowns QB in diesem Spiel
3. Pass-yards QB in diesem Spiel
4. Los.

After calculating the tie-breaker the winner of the second semi-final match was determined to be the ... Stockerau Bulldogs! The Bulldogs offense accounted for 5 TDs, powered primarily by Drew Brees and his 4 TD performance, while the Ruthless offense was unable to keep up and only accounted for 1 TD. Thus tiebreaker 1 was the deciding factor, and Stockerau Bulldogs emerged victorious from the tightest NSFF playoff game to date and earned their spot in the championship game. The Ruthless will attempt to rebound from a painful loss and try to take home third place in the consolation game against the Cowboys.

Congratulations to the Berlin Bashers and the Stockerau Bulldogs on making NSFF history, and good luck in the championship matchup!

While the Championship Playoff featured two extremely tight games, the last four matchups in the Rookie Draft Playoff were far from close with all four games being decided by a margin of at least 27 points in each matchup, with the average point differential being 48 points.

The #12 Marburg Gamblers beat the #9 Berlin 49ers to take home the first pick of the 2017 rookie draft. The #10 Senefelder Spatzen won big against the #11 Red Mambas Hannover and claimed the third pick of the rookie draft. The #6 Marburg Crusaders took home the fifth pick of the rookie draft with a win over the #7 Berlin TDnators. The #4 Gehrden Warriors wrapped up the final game of the Rookie Draft Playoff with a comfortable win over the #2 Wiener Schnitzels, taking home the seventh pick of the rookie draft.

With the conclusion of the Rookie Draft Playoff the picks are almost finalized.

Congratulations to Tom (Berlin Basher) on achieving his first NSFF Championship!

The championship round had much of the same taste as the entire season, both the Berlin Basher and the Berlin Cowboys continued their high scoring ways and came out victorious in the last game of the season. The #1 seeded Basher were driven to victory by Aaron Rodgers, taking a comfortable victory over the #5 Stockerau Bulldogs. The #7 seeded Cowboys also won in comfortable fashion despite the strong game from the Berlin Ruthless, and came away with the 1.09 rookie pick. Unfortunately for the Cowboys this big game was one week too late, as the 179.9 points scored lead the league this week, and could've meant a third championship for the Cowboys.

With the final games completed this brings an end to the 2016 NSFF season. Congratulations once again to the Berlin Basher.

With these results the rookie draft is set as follows:
1. Marburg Gamblers
2. Berlin 49ers
3. Senefelder Spatzen
4. Red Mambas Hannover
5. Marburg Crusaders
6. Berlin TDnators
7. Gehrden Warriors
8. Wiener Schnitzels
9. Berlin Cowboys
10. Berlin Ruthless
11. Stockerau Bulldogs
12. Berlin Basher

The veteran draft order is also set:
1. Marburg Gamblers (4-9)
2. Red Mambas Hannover (5-8) (0-1)
3. Senefelder Spatzen (5-8) (1-0)
