Hi folks,

Big Grin

Also FrauVick, nicht wundern wenn CBS wegen Interview klingelt, ich hab gesagt er soll mal eine honorable Mention raushauen 8)

Unten der Artikel......

Draft Prep: All-female Fantasy league
July 20, 2007
Jamey Eisenberg
Senior Fantasy Writer

Who says Fantasy Football is just for men?

For the past five years, I've participated in a Fantasy league with at least three women, and all of them have been very knowledgeable and competitive. But I've never heard of an all-female league.

Until now.

There are many female football fans in the world, and most watch the game for more than just the tight uniforms. They know the difference between a 3-4 and 4-3 defense and can tell you which quarterback is going to have a good Sunday or not.

Then why is it that a group of women can get together for lunch or a day at the spa but not to do a Fantasy draft? It's a shame because they would probably have just as much fun as the guys.

We decided to do an All-Female Fantasy Football League with 12 owners, and the draft provided a great atmosphere. Five women came to our office at CBS SportsLine and seven did the draft via conference call.

The trash talking was the same, with criticism over picks and "Did she really just take him?" comments. The women also got hungry waiting for pizza, which shows some things aren't related to gender. And there was some talk about certain players "being hot," but hey, women are women.

"I love Fantasy Football in general, and playing in an all-girl league is especially intriguing," said Ashley Burns, one of the owners in the league. "There's normally a need for me to prove I can play with the boys because it's expected the girls will be a step behind. This league is full of girls who seem to enjoy the sport and don't have anything to prove gender-wise. This group is able to enjoy a Sunday full of nachos, beer, cheering and competition. It's not just for boys anymore."

The 12 women were chosen based on their football knowledge, Fantasy history or both, and they all did well in drafting their teams. Some owners took risks, like Kim Broder drafting Bills rookie running back Marshawn Lynch in the third round, Vicki Smith taking Cleveland's Jamal Lewis as her first running back and Brandie Taylor selecting Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler in the third round.

But each owner was confident in their picks and their teams. And the four first-time Fantasy users probably had more fun than anyone else.

"It's actually rather odd, I'm used to being one of the only girls in my circle of friends who knows much about sports," said Smith, who is playing in her first Fantasy league. "It was pretty intimidating to realize that most of these girls know a great deal more than I do."

Added team owner Suzie Meehan: "I am so excited to be playing Fantasy Football this year. I have definitely felt left out over the past several years as my guy friends were participating in leagues and I was not. I am competitive by nature, so I think I am going to really enjoy playing, rooting for my players and talking smack along the way."

The purpose of the league is to show our female readers out there how other women draft. And to show our predominantly male readers that their wives, girlfriends, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins and friends can play Fantasy Football, too.

They might even have more fun than the fellas......
