Der Rookie-Draft wird gemäß unseren Regeln im Serpentinenmodus durchgeführt (1->12, 12->1).
2 Runden, jedes Team hat max. 24 Stunden Zeit, Ort: hier im Forum.
Der Termin wird noch rechtzeitig bekannt gegeben, er wird relativ zeitnah am NFL-Draft liegen.

Der Veteran-Draft (Draft der Spieler, die nicht Keeper sind und in den FA-Pool wandern) findet im NFL-Modus statt (1->12, 1->12, usw.).
12 Runden, Ort: Engine der NSFF (Live-Draft).
Auch dieser Termin wird natürlich rechtzeitig bekannt gegeben und wird spät in der Preseason der NFL liegen.

How was the order of the 2009 draft decided? I can't make any sense out of the draft order when comparing it to the final rankings of teams (before or after the playoffs), nor can I make sense when comparing it to the 2008 draft order.

My previous team, Warendorf Diamonds, was tied with 2 other teams having the 3rd worst regular season record ( 5-8 ). Thus, the lowest I should draft based on my regular season record would be 5th. However, I lost my next two playoff games, and one of those two teams won theirs. Thus, the lowest I should draft is now 4th.

I don't understand how my team drafts 8th, especially since the best regular season record (Küppersteger 11-2) is drafting before my team. Will somebody please clarify this?

Bei den Looser-Playoffs spielen immer die schlechtesten Teams der Setzliste und die besten Teams der Setzliste jeweils gegeneinander.
Die vier schlechtesten Teams der Setzliste, die nicht an den Playoffs teilnehmen, spielen um die Draftplätze 1-4 der nächsten Saison.
In der ersten Playoff-Runde (Woche 14) finden folgende Spielpaarungen statt:

#10 vs. #9

In der zweiten Playoff-Runde (Woche 15) spielen die beiden Sieger der ersten Runde um Draftplatz 1, die beiden Verlierer um Draftplatz 3.
Die Verlierer der Playoff-Viertelfinals schließen sich in Woche 15 an und spielen dem obigen Modus entsprechend in Woche 15 und 16 die Draftplätze 5 bis 8 aus.
Es finden also folgende Paarungen statt:
Sieger (#12/#11) vs. Sieger (#10/#9) um Draftplätze 1 und 2,
Verlierer (#12/#11) vs. Verlierer (#10/#9) um Draftplätze 3 und 4,
Schlechtester Verlierer aus den Playoffs vs. zweitschlechtester Verlierer aus den Playoffs um Draftplätze 5 und 6,
Bester Verlier aus den Playoffs vs. zweitbester Verlierer aus den Playoffs um die Draftplätze 7 und 8.

Die Verlierer der Halbfinals spielen in Woche 16 um Platz 3 der Liga, die Sieger der Halbfinals spielen in Woche 16 um den Pokal der NSFF. Der Pokalsieger hat den letzten Draftplatz, der Ligazweite den Vorletzten, der Ligadritte den drittletzten und der Ligavierte den viertletzten Draftplatz.

My team was tied for 3rd worst at the end of the regular season, and not leading the division. By that record, my team should be placed in the "Losers Playoff" pitting the worst four teams against eachother, the winner taking the first pick of the draft (correct me if I'm wrong).

My team lost the next two games, weeks 14 and 15 according to the NFL site.

So, according to what I'm reading above, my team should be drafting at the #4 slot. The team was 5-8 at the end of the season, and 5-10 at the end of the playoffs.

Am I missing something here?

You made the play-offs as team #8 therefore the four teams who played the looser play-offs are picking in front of you.

Than the losers of the play-offs played against each other for the draft spots 5-8. Since you lost the game in week 15 you will pick at 8th spot.

The final chart shows also the scores from the play-offs, therefore MRC is in front of you, because they won in week 14 but that doesn't matter for the draft order.

I see what you're saying Dan_the_Man (laces out DAN!), thanks for the explanation. I understand it, now I don't understand the reasoning behind the explanation.

Why was my team placed into the #8 spot in the playoffs? According to the standings for Week 13, only 3 teams were worse than mine in the regular season based on W-L and tiebreakers considered. I should have been #9 because I lost my division to Marsburg Crusaders, and thus was the 4th worst in the league.

Finally, why would losing playoff games punish me in the draft? I understand the "incentive" for winning the losers playoff games, so people don't lose on purpose and have a reason to be interested while the championship is being determined...but in the end it punishes a team in both drafts (rookie and veteran). In other words, my team was worse last year than all but 3 teams, but selects in the draft even lower this year because it wasn't good enough to win a Loser Playoff game. So my team is being punished for being bad.

I hope my questions make sense.

Your team was a division champion and it played in week 14 in the playoffs als #4 seeded. this team lost and went into the loser-playoffs, where you played for the 7th or 8th draftplace. you lost this game, so your draftplace ist 8th.

the idea is, that the four division champions and the four wildcard teams plays in the playoffs. the other four teams (losers) play in the loser-plaoffs in week 14 and 15. this four teams get the draftspots 1 to 4 in order to the win- or lose of the loser playoff games.

those teams who loses the playoffs (the real plaoffs) went into the loserplayoffs and get the draftspots 5 to 8. (matchups in order to the seeding list) - the both worst seeded teams draftspots 5 and 6 and the both best seeded teams draftspots 7 and 8.
