Our Rookie Draft 2010 will be held on May 1. 2010.
Am I right in assuming our draft will BEGIN on May 1, 24 h max. for each turn etc. or do we really plan on conducting the entire draft on May 1 (which would be a problem 4 me).
No, it begins on May 1. 2010 and every team has 24 hours to make his pick. I'll open the thread on April 30.
The more I look at this draft date the more problems I recognize I will be facing due to my upcoming vacation plans. I leave next Thursday, April 22nd, and return May 2nd. This means I will miss the entire NFL draft, any chances at post-draft trade negotiations for any pick jostling, and I will also possibly miss my own pick in the rookie draft (depending how quickly the first two owners pick).
My primary concern is that I'll have no time to recognize what teams drafted what players in the NFL draft (which is obviously a big factor towards player potential), and thus I will not be able to fairly rank my top 3 players prior to the NFL draft without that important bit of data. If pick 1 and pick 2 occur within 1 day of the draft beginning, I will be in the air when my pick window expires.
I will be doing my best to check on NFL news while in the South Pacific, but I've been told the resort has absolutely no public internet accessibility (which I find hard to believe). That makes it pretty hard for me to do much preparation after the NFL draft.
I don't want to appoint a draft deputy for this offline draft, there are too many decisions I would have to make based on data I don't know, and I cannot just ask some random person to draft in MY best interests. I also will not be able to create a top 3 list because I have no idea where players will be when the draft concludes. I just am not sure how I can make a rookie pick upon my return without some sort of extension of the draft window. Since I'm giving plenty of forewarning, is it possible to request an extension to my 24hour draft window if necessary?
I don't want to be unfair to everyone else, but I kinda feel the offline nature of this draft would allow for more flexibility for my situation. What can be done?

I guess the easiest way would be to postpone the start of the draft to May 2nd.

Right now I'm not even sure if it will be possible for me to fly out of Europe, and subsequently back into Europe. So at this point in time I think we're safe with the "wait and see" approach.
If all else fails I'll accept Uwe's offer of Adrian Peterson for rookie pick 1.03...I think it's a lopsided trade for him but I'll lower my expectations *just a bit* to accomodate his desires
Oh, I almost forgot about that trade... I could add the 1.12 and the 2.01 rookie pick to make it a bit more comprehensive... :coool:
