Hey guys, I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts about implementing a reward system for our league. I see two options for how we can continue using fees in our league:

1: We stick with what we've done the past few seasons.
This means we continue to reduce the league fee based on how much money is left after the championship trophy is awarded to the league winner. This means the league fee will continue to fluctuate between €10 and €15.

2: We create a reward system for the top 3 teams, as further incentive to be competitive throughout the season and even during the playoffs.
This would mean we create a slightly higher league fee (presumably around €15 or more), and from that money we create a pot from which we give monetary rewards. For instance, 1st place = Entry Fee+Trophy, 2nd place = Entry Fee, 3rd place = 50% Entry Fee, and maybe we even give a reward for the team leading the league after the regular season (again, maybe 50% league fee).

I will mention that option 2 hasn't been fully thought through so I'm not sure exactly what fee we would need to charge in order to continue rewarding the owners monetarily, but it will definitely need to be higher than €15 in order to be feasible.

So, what do you guys think? Do you want lower fees and only a reward for 1st place, or do you like the idea of rewarding more people but paying slightly more every season?
It is my unfortunate duty to inform everybody that the owner of the Berlin Patriots (Roman) has decided to leave the NSFF.

This means the Patriots will be available for any person who is interested in becoming the new owner. Just to be fair, the couple of times this happened previously we worked on a "first come first served" basis for filling the new team. So, if you guys know anybody that would like to join our league, please have them contact me or Uwe. They do not need to be on the fantasy-football.de forum yet (we will organize that if they aren't a member), however they need to understand the basic format of our league (keepers, rookies, re-draft order, etc) so that they know what they're signing up for.

I'm sure we can find someone relatively soon to take over for Roman and keep the team competitive.

Please join me in saying goodbye to the first ever NSFF Champion, the Berlin Warriors...I mean...Patriots!!

I'd like to go on with option 1. I don't want to win money, I want to win something like this!

Goodbye Roman! Good luck to you while playing Fantasy Bowling or whatever you prefer ;-)
As I already mensioned at Chris, Chucky asked me, when we have a free spot in the league, his friend Dirk would take over a free team. Don't know if he ist first, but Chucky asked me as was commish a cupple of weeks ago. He is now on vacation and can't write here in our forum.

As I said previously ... first come first served was the modus operandi previously, so if there are no objections let's give Dirk a chance. Please give him the information he needs so that Uwe and I can get him in here quickly.
1) Im sad seeing the patriots leaving our league. i truly think he will come back anytime. until then: good bye and thanks for all the trades we had Smile

2) i vote for option one

Cheers, Rene

The championship trophy would remain with option two, all monetary compensation would be ADDITIONAL to our current trophy.

I'd prefer to stick with option 1. I don't need any special incentives to stay competetive, let's keep the fees to a minimum.
