[NSFF] Playoff Run 2013
#1

PLAYOFF RUN 2013

This year the playoff run is as exciting as ever. Thus far the only team that is out of contention for a spot in the NSFF Championship Playoff is the Senefelder Spatzen. Every other team has a chance to win their way into the playoffs coming into Week 13, the last game of the regular season. Despite the many open storylines and potential scenarios there are a couple certainties in the playoff seeding. However there are far too many tiebreaker scenarios to outline them entirely in this post.

At this point two teams have successfully clinched their division and earned themselves a spot in the top 4 seeds, regardless of the outcome of their game this week.

Division Breakdown
Yellow Division:
The Stockerau Bulldogs have clinched the division title and AT LEAST the #2 Playoff Seed. The Bulldogs own the tiebreaker for the #2 Playoff Seed over the Berlin Saber Rider with a 1-0 head-to-head record.
If needed the Bulldogs own the tiebreaker for the #1 Playoff Seed over the Berlin Cowboys with a 1-0 head-to-head record.

Red Division:
The Berlin Saber Rider have clinched the division title and the #3 Playoff Seed.

Green Division:
Contenders = Berlin Cowboys (9-3)(2-0) and Wiener Schnitzels (9-3)(0-2)
If the teams end the season with the same record the Cowboys own the tiebreaker with a 2-0 head-to-head record and will clinch the division title.
If the Cowboys win their matchup against the Marburg Crusaders they will clinch the #1 Playoff Seed.
If the Cowboys and the Schnitzels lose their matchups this weekend the Cowboys will clinch the #2 Playoff Seed. The Bulldogs own the tiebreaker with a 1-0 head-to-head record.
If the Schnitzels win and the Cowboys lose their matchups this weekend the Schnitzels will clinch the #1 Playoff Seed.

Blue Division:
Contenders = Berlin TDnators (5-7)(1-0)(1-1), Marburg Gamblers (5-7)(0-1)(2-0), and Steglitz Hawks (5-7)(0-1)(1-1)
If the Gamblers win they will clinch the division title and the #4 Playoff Seed. The Gamblers own the tiebreaker over the Hawks with a 2-0 record.
If the TDnators and Hawks win their matchup the team with the most points scored this season (PF) will clinch the division title and the #4 Playoff Seed. Both teams have a 1-1 head-to-head record.
If all three teams end with the same record the team with the most points scored this season (PF) between the TDnators and Gamblers will clinch the division title and the #4 Playoff Seed.

Peleton Breakdown
Seed 4 through 8
Contenders = Berlin Bashers (6-6), Red Mambas Hannover (5-7), Gehrden Warriors (5-7), Berlin TDnators (5-7), Marburg Gamblers (5-7), Marburg Crusaders (5-7), Steglitz Hawks (5-7)
This is perhaps the tightest race for 4 spots this league has seen. The only known placement for the rest of the Championship Playoff is the #5 Seed. The team finishing second in the Green Division will win this spot, either the Cowboys or the Schnitzels.
7 teams are battling for the final 3 spots (and one division title).
If the Bashers win they will clinch the #6 Playoff Seed. They are the only team that can guarantee a playoff spot by winning their matchup.

Seed 9 through 12
The only known placement for the Consolation Playoff (Draft-Playoff) is the #12 Seed. Regardless of the outcome of the weekend matchup the Senefelder Spatzen (3-9) have earned the #12 Playoff Seed and therefore the first pick of the 2014 veteran draft.
All other Consolation Playoff Seeds will be determined via tie-breakers due to the tight race for the final 3 spots in the Championship Playoff.

Rene

Jetzt sei keine beleidigte Leberwurst.
