PLAYOFF RUN 2014
We're at the last week of the regular season before the NSFF Championship Playoff and with the exception of one division, everything is up for grabs. Amazingly every single playoff spot comes down to the last game, as no position is guaranteed at this point.
The only team to have successfully clinched their division and earned themselves a spot in the top 4 seeds, regardless of the outcome of their game this week, is the Berlin Cowboys. Four teams have been eliminated from the playoffs by virtue of their record: Berlin Saber Rider, Steglitz Hawks, Stockerau Bulldogs and Marburg Crusaders. The remaining teams have a chance to win their way into the playoffs coming into Week 13, the last game of the regular season.
Division Breakdown
Green Division:
The Berlin Cowboys have clinched the division title and AT LEAST the #2 Playoff Seed. The Cowboys own the potential tiebreakers over the Berlin Basher, Berlin TDnators, Marburg Gamblers and Red Mambas Hannover with a 1-0 head-to-head record against each team.
The Schnitzels own the tiebreaker over the Crusaders with a 2-0 head-to-head record.
Yellow Division:
Contenders = Berlin Basher (8-4)(1-0) and Senefelder Spatzen (8-4)(0-1)
The Berlin Basher and Senefelder Spatzen face off for the division title in the final matchup of the season.
The Bashers own the tiebreaker if a tie occurs.
The Spatzen own the tiebreakers for the #1 Playoff Seed over the Berlin Cowboys, Marburg Gamblers, and Berlin TDnators with a 1-0 head-to-head record against each team.
Red Division:
Contenders = Gehrden Warriors (6-6)(0-1) and Red Mambas Hannover (7-5)(1-0)
The Gehrden Warriors and Red Mambas Hannover face off for the division title in the final matchup of the season.
The Warriors must win by a margin of greater than 4.2 points to clinch the title, and in doing so they will own the tiebreaker and clinch the division title and the #4 Playoff Seed.
If the Red Mambas win they will clinch the division title and a top 4 Playoff Seed.
Blue Division:
Contenders = Berlin TDnators (8-4)(1-1, -18.6) and Marburg Gamblers (8-4)(1-1, +18.6)
If the Marburg Gamblers win they will clinch the division title and a top 4 Playoff Seed. The Gamblers own the tiebreaker over the Berlin TDnators with a +18.6 point differential from the 1:1 split of their head-to-head matchups.
