I understand your thoughts but if you showed more patience in holding Rice you would probably make a deal though. Besides this, of course nobody wants to give you an easy championship again! I would rather deal a 1st rounder to some else than to a CJ,AP and AR owner hock:
Personally I don’t consider Rice as a surefire Top5 back as Fabiano stated in his recent NFL.com RB rankings. From an underperforming rookie backup /committee back he became the starting job in 2009 and he did very well. But despite his success, you can't call Rice a true featured back. McGahee will be in the mix again and for me there is just no guarantee that he can repeat same numbers. Compared to Rice, guys like Moreno, McCoy, Greene and even Wells are probably more valued on point or UNDERVALUED by Fabiano heading into 2010 drafts. In my situation I value Moreno over Rice because of his rookie status (what makes me able to keep Brees+Williams+Austin) and his potential upside. He can be a Top 10 fantasy back as long as he can stay healthy. He runs with authority, speed and he is a remarkable athlete. Secondly, playing in the AFC West opens Moreno up for some big games every season, and should enable him to have a few 1,000-yard seasons.
Take it easy, Rene
