Jets acquired WR Santonio Holmes from the Steelers in exchange for a 2010 fifth-round pick (No. 151 overall).
A steal for the Jets, a strong statement by the Steelers, and an insane weekend for Holmes. PFT reported Saturday that Holmes is headed for a four-game suspension, an item that may have led directly to the Steelers giving up on him. The compensation says they just wanted to be rid of him. Holmes is a bit of knucklehead - not unlike new teammate Braylon Edwards - but he's an elite deep threat and has great hands. We think Holmes has a better shot to get a long-term deal in New York than Edwards, although both players lose fantasy value in the short term. So does Jerricho Cotchery. Mark Sanchez and Steelers wideout Mike Wallace both get boosts.
