Hier noch Nachrichten vorm Bettchen...
14:46 PT: AzCardinals.com reports free agent RB Emmitt Smith (Cowboys) had this to say about this visit with the Arizona Cardinals: "The Cardinals have some younger players on their ball club," explained Smith. “I don’t want them to feel threatened by me. I want them to receive me as one of their own. That is for any ball club. I am not coming in to be a distraction." Smith is looking for significant playing time and a team where he feels he can contribute both on and off the field. "Right now, I can say one thing about the Cardinals - I felt at home." Smith plans on visiting with a few other teams, but is hoping that this process moves fairly quickly.
14:37 PT: Updating previous reports, Bengals.com reports agent David Levine said the Green Bay Packers have signed restricted free agent LB Armegis Spearman (Bengals) to an offer sheet. The Packers told his client he comes to training camp as their starting middle linebacker, if he signs. The Bengals have the right to match the undisclosed offer, but Spearman is hoping the Bengals give him the chance to go be a starter instead of returning to Cincinnati as a backup. Levine indicated the offer is in the $1.7 million range over two years.
14:22 PT: Updating previous reports, the New Orleans Saints have traded their 2003 sixth-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for QB Todd Bouman, GM Mickey Loomis announced Thursday. "Acquiring Todd gives us an experienced reserve that we are confident can lead our offense when we would need him," said Loomis. "Todd has proven he can provide a spark off the bench or be a consistent starter if called upon."
11:46 PT: The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the official signing of TE Reggie Kelly. "Reggie was the guy we targeted for this position," said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. "He's a young player with great talent, and he's excited to be here to compete for the starting job."
11:44 PT: The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the signing of RB Ray Jackson to a two-year contract. He is a first-year free agent from the University of Cincinnati.
10:59 PT: ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli reports the Miami Dolphins have signed free agent CB Terrell Buckley (Patriots). The deal is believed to be a one-year contract for the veteran minimum base salary of $755,000.

zwei unschöne nachrichten für duckpack:
Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals restricted free agent LB Armegis Spearman expects the team to match the offer sheet given to him by the Green Bay Packers. He came to that conclusion after talking to coach Marvin Lewis. He said Lewis gave him every indication the Bengals will keep him by matching the contract, maybe as soon as Friday. "Coach Lewis said he’s trying to build a team with the best possible players," Spearman said. "He said the best players are going to play no matter the money." Lewis wouldn’t say Thursday if the Bengals are going to match.
ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli reports the Minnesota Vikings have re-signed unrestricted free agent RB Moe Williams to a multi-year deal. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed but Williams is believed to have received a $1 million signing bonus.
tipp:
1) moe williams an trosty traden
2) die DEF-packers irgendwie verramschen
2) ein neues lieblings-team suchen, dass im nächsten jahr plant mit einer DEF zu spielen... :?

Updating previous reports, the Chicago Bears have officially announced that they have agreed to terms with free agent QB Kordell Stewart (Bears) on a two-year deal. The team did not disclose any financial terms of the deal.

The Sun Sentinel reports the Miami Dolphins are showing some interest in free agent TE Jay Riemersma (Bills).
The Sun Sentinel reports the Miami Dolphins visited with free agent TE Marco Battaglia (Steelers) on Thursday. The Dolphins need a backup tight end.
The Sun Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins WR Cris Carter is retiring again, this time for good. Sources close to Carter say he is satisfied with his achievements, adding that his three-year contract with HBO precludes him from returning to football.
Bob Glauber reports for Newsday the New York Jets plan to give RB Chad Morton more action in 2003, if he stays with the team. "We've talked about the last two weeks that we'd like to get the ball in Chad's hands [more]," coach Herman Edwards said Thursday. "We'll look to fit him into a package on third downs. Obviously, Chad catches the ball well, and he's a guy that would be a tough matchup for linebackers and strong safeties."
Bob Glauber reports for Newsday New York Jets GM Terry Bradway said the team has no immediate plans to offer a contract to restricted free agent WR Darrell Jackson (Seahawks). He visited with the team Thursday night and is scheduled to again Friday.
Bob Glauber reports for Newsday the New York Jets are undecided about what they will do about WR Laveranues Coles' offer sheet from the Washington Redskins. Sources continue to indicate the Jets will not match the offer, but GM Terry Bradway won't make that official until the one-week deadline is up. "We'll take the entire seven days to address that offer and what our options might be," Bradway said. "At the appropriate time, we'll make a decision."
(Achtet auf die geldsummen bei der folgenden news!!!!)
According to the Post-Dispatch, the St. Louis Rams are not close to a long-term deal with franchise free agent OT Orlando Pace. There has been next to no dialogue lately. Rams president of football operations, Jay Zygmunt, said earlier this week that he has talked only once with Pace's agent, Carl Poston, since imposing the franchise tag on Pace in February. Poston's only formal proposal to the Rams sought $85 million overall and a signing bonus of just under $24 million. The proposal is about twice what the Rams are willing to pay.
According to the Post-Dispatch, free agent WR Ricky Proehl (Rams) did not get a contract offer Thursday from the Carolina Panthers, but the Panthers remain interested and talks will continue at a later date.
Updating earlier stories, John Mullin reports for the Chicago Tribune QB Kordell Stewart's two-year contract with the Chicago Bears is actually worth about $4.75 million. Stewart will receive a signing bonus of $1.75 million and base salaries of about $1.5 million for each year. The two-year contract, if Stewart plays well, means that "we'll be back at the table," said GM Jerry Angelo. "We feel that two years will give him enough of a time frame to get it done. Two years is a good timetable for us and for him."
Updating previous reports, the Dallas Morning News reports the four-year contract signed by LB Al Singleton with the Dallas Cowboys is worth about $8 million, including a signing bonus of more than $2 million. He will play on the strong side over the tight end. "Al is an athletic linebacker with very good speed," owner Jerry Jones said. "Al is a productive player in the prime of his career. He knows how to win and how to produce in this scheme."
Updating previous reports, the Star Tribune reports the Minnesota Vikings may be close to signing free agent QB Shane Matthews (Redskins) as their new No. 2 QB. Coach Mike Tice favored Matthews over QB Gus Frerotte, who has also visited the Vikings.
Updating previous reports, the Star Tribune reports RB Moe Williams signed a three-year contract worth $2.7 million with the Minnesota Vikings. The deal included a signing bonus of about $800,000 and should be announced Friday.
John Clayton reports for ESPN.com the Pittsburgh Steelers and free agent QB Charlie Batch (Steelers) have agreed to the terms of a two-year, $2 million contract.
Eddie Pells reports for the Associated Press LB Mike Peterson signed a six-year, $20.4 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The deal included $5 million in guaranteed bonuses. Peterson, who runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash, was thought to be at the top of the list of free agents the Jaguars pursued. "Jacksonville was high on my list," he said. "I get to come back, play in front of my friends and family. It was a win-win situation for me."

According to John Clayton of ESPN.com, the NFLPA has requested an expedited hearing to resolve a dispute in the five-year contract signed by RB Chad Morton with the New York Jets. As noted, the Jets didn't match a portion of the contract that voided the fourth and fifth years of the deal. "Chad might be the most fought-over special teams player in history," said agent Leigh Steinberg. "There is going to be a hearing within 10 days with an arbiter because the Jets failed to match the void in his contract. They claim that they didn't match the void because, in their opinion, it wasn't a principle term of the contract. If we prevail, he would go back to the Washington Redskins."
kann mir jemand vielleicht erklären, um was es da geht?
