Jay Glazer, of SportsLine.com, reports free agent K Morten Andersen (Chiefs) and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a four-year. Financial terms were undisclosed.

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with free agent LB Cornell Brown (Ravens) on a four-year deal. Financial terms of the contract were unavailable.

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports free agent WR/KR Jermaine Lewis (Texans) has narrowed down his list of teams. The Cincinnati Bengals and the Jacksonville Jaguars are the two remaining choices on Lewis’ list.

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with OT Jerry Wunsch (Seahawks) to a two-year deal, worth $1.6 million. The contract also includes a signing bonus of $400,000.

The New York Post reports highly-placed sources close to Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Keyshawn Johnson placed at least one call to the New York Jets to inquire about their interest in bringing him back to New York. However, Johnson wasn’t available for comment and his agent, Jerome Stanley, said he wasn’t aware of any conversation Johnson might have had. Should Tampa Bay trade him, they’d be hit with a $7.5 million salary cap hit. Considering their current salary cap problems, that would be difficult to absorb. Due to the league’s tampering policies, the Jets are unable to talk about Johnson.

The Buffalo News reports the Buffalo Bills have a contingency plan if free agent DT Sam Adams (Raiders) doesn't sign. According to NFL sources, the Bills have made contact with free agent DE Vonnie Holliday (Packers).

Updating previous reports, Matt Maiocco for the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports the agent for San Francisco 49ers WR Tai Streets said Monday his client would like to play elsewhere this season. Streets met with the New York Jets Monday and will travel to Detroit to meet with the Lions. “He likes the people and the 49ers organization, but he does not want to tie himself up to a long-term contract,” said Streets’ agent, Ralph Cindrich.

Updating previous reports, Randy Lange for the Bergen Record reports RB/KR Chad Morton is likely to remain with the New York Jets, despite a claim to the NFLPA by agent Leigh Steinberg that the team had not matched the terms of a contract offer given to Morton by the Washington Redskins. “No dispute has been filed,” an NFL spokesman said Monday. “We have not received anything.”

Updating previous reports, the Cincinnati Post reports USC QB Carson Palmer will have a private workout with the Cincinnati Bengals this week.

Updating previous reports, the Arizona Republic reports Arizona Cardinals vice president for football operations Rod Graves confirmed the team made a contract offer to free agent RB Emmitt Smith (Cowboys) Monday night. Graves would not comment on the specifics of the offer.

Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks have seven days to match the Buffalo Bills’ offer to restricted free agent PK Rian Lindell. However, Seattle is not expected to match it.

Updating ongoing stories, unrestricted free agent QB Jim Miller’s (Bears) agent, Joe Linta, has confirmed to KFFL that Miller is close to signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two sides need to work out some legal language with regard to Miller’s shoulder rehabilitation following surgery he received while with the Chicago Bears.

He said he was informed by the Jets that they were unable to work out trade terms with the 49ers. The Jets had hoped to trade an early to mid round draft choice to San Francisco for his services. "We had a discussion with the Jets this morning and at that point it was decided that we would not continue pursuing negotiations because they couldn't work out a deal with San Francisco," said Cindrich. The 49ers want a first-round pick as compensation, a pick the Jets are not willing to part with. Without that pick, the deal is "dead."

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports San Diego Chargers WR David Boston’s contract was a five-year deal, worth $30 million. The contract breaks down as follows: $5.1 million - $4.55 million signing bonus, $550,000 in base salary (2003); up to $6.9 million - $3.9 million in guaranteed salary with a $3 million option bonus/buyout (2004); $6 million - $1 million via roster bonus (2005); $6 million - $1 million via roster bonus (2006); $6 million - $1 million via roster bonus (2007).

Kevin Dyson (Berlin Thunderheads):
The Winston Salem Journal reports Carolina Panthers GM Marty Hurney said that he expects free agent WR Kevin Dyson (Titans) to make his decision on whether or not to accept a contract offer from the Panthers by the end of this week. Dyson also is considering offers from Buffalo and Washington. Hurney also said that the signing of WR Ricky Proehl was "not related to" the pursuit of Dyson.

Ricky Proehl (AYFFL-FA):
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports former St. Louis Rams WR Ricky Proehl, currently a member of the Carolina Panthers, said the primary reason he left the Rams was due to a lack of respect. "It came down to that," Proehl said. "I can deal with, 'Hey, we're going to go in a different direction.' But just pick up the phone, call me, and tell me that. Just give me that much respect to let me know what's going on and I can deal with the rest."

Ron Dayne (AYFFL-FA):
Updating an earlier story, the Hartford Courant reports New York Giants RB Ron Dayne will not attend the team’s off-season workouts. The workouts are not mandatory, but this may be another push from Dayne’s representatives to trade him. Lee Southern, one of Dayne’s agents, said: “Ron is quite willing to work out on his own.”

Updating previous reports, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports New York Jets general manager Terry Bradway inquired about the availability of Cleveland Browns WR Kevin Johnson last week, according to a Browns team source. The source said the Jets mentioned their second-round draft pick in “hypothetical parameters” in a trade for Johnson.

Updating previous reports, the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports free agent DT Sam Adams (Raiders) turned down an incentive-laden contract from the Buffalo Bills. “There are too many intangibles to risk and besides, you’re asking a guy who’s proven it time and again to prove himself,” said Adams’ agent, Angelo Wright. “Sam’s a very good football player, he just wants to be recognized as that.” Bills owner Ralph Wilson said Tuesday night there is no room for negotiation.

The Kansas City Star reports the Kansas City Chiefs may still keep PK Jose Cortez on roster, even though they recently re-signed PK Morten Andersen. Cortez excels on kickoffs, and the team might decide to have him handle that duty and save Andersen for just place kicking.

Updating previous reports, the St. Petersburg Times reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Keyshawn Johnson has agreed in principle to restructure his contract. The deal, which is expected to be finalized Thursday, will save the team about $2.5 million against the salary cap, Johnson said. No terms of the restructuring have been released, but Johnson will have more than half of his $5 million signing and roster bonus in 2003 paid to him in advance in the form of a signing bonus.
