SuperDuper

Johnnie Morton - WR, Kansas City Chiefs Feb. 20, 10:54 a.m.
Admittedly, I don't have much to go off on this one. But here's what I do know: Morton is only 29, he hasn't lost a step, and he has a proven track record as a 1,000-yard receiver. What's more, he has a fine work ethic, plays in a very good passing offense and last year signed a big long-term contract. Frankly, I don't see how he can't produce. Of course, he looked like a sure thing last year, and look how that turned out.
Fantasy Spin: Still, I'll gladly take him as my fourth or fifth receiver in '03. (Jason Langendorf/TSN)

SuperDuper

Marty Booker - WR, Chicago Bears Feb. 20, 10:52 a.m.
It can be rough when 1,183 yards and six TDs is considered a disappointing year, but that's life when you're a No. 1 fantasy receiver. Though Booker fell somewhat short of expectations last season, it's amazing that he was able to draw anywhere near them. Injuries at quarterback, running back, receiver and on the offensive line left Booker seemingly going one-on-11 at times.
Fantasy Spin: The healthy return of No. 2 receiver David Terrell will help immensely, and better pass protection could help Booker make a run at Terrell Owens and Marvin Harrison for fantasy supremacy at the position. (Jason Langendorf/TSN)

na, das fazit halte ich für sehr übertrieben!

SuperDuper

Stephen Davis - RB, Washington Redskins Feb. 20, 10:46 a.m.
You have about the same chance of seeing Davis in a Redskins uniform next season as you do of spotting Steve Spurrier on the sideline in a fedora. No matter where Davis ends up, though, you can bet he'll be better off than he would be in Washington, where last year he was misused before a shoulder injury cut his season short.
Fantasy Spin: Davis should be good to go after surgery and, at 29, still has at least two prime years left in him. (Jason Langendorf/TSN)

SuperDuper

Kordell Stewart - QB, Pittsburgh Steelers Feb. 20, 10:43 a.m.
It all depends on where he lands, but there's a chance we haven't seen the last of Slash. Stewart has to own up to his failings in Pittsburgh, but in the last few years Steelers offensive coordinators didn't exactly put him in a position to succeed. If Stewart hooks up with a team willing to let him run, throw deep and make some mistakes along the way, he can become a fantasy force again.
Fantasy Spin: Of course, he has to find a team willing to let him be its starter first. (Jason Langendorf/TSN)

und das nachfolgende habe ich natürlich besonders gerne gelesen:

Daunte Culpepper - QB, Minnesota Vikings Feb. 20, 10:42 a.m.
Remember the Culpepper who accounted for 40 touchdowns and more than 3,400 yards of offense in 2000? As far as we know, this is the same guy. Culpepper had more weapons and better protection back then, but he has at least one advantage now that he didn't have then: experience. Next year will be his fourth as a starter -- about the time things really click for many quarterbacks -- and a reliable running game and no pressure to fulfill a Randy Moss quota should help Culpepper cut way back on his 29 turnovers. Updating previous stories, ESPN.com reports the Minnesota Vikings have placed the franchise tag on TE Jim Kleinsasser. The team guarantees him at least $2.29 million for the 2003 season.

SuperDuper

Updating previous stories, Bart Hubbuch of the Florida Times-Union reports the Jacksonville Jaguars vice president of player personnel James Harris said the team wants to keep QB Mark Brunell. "We'd like to have him back," Harris said. The only possible catch would be Brunell's $8.25 million cap hit in 2003. If the team releases or trades him this off-season they would save $4 million.

Updating previous reports, the Arizona Republic reports the agent for Arizona Cardinals WR David Boston said the team might not designate his client as their franchise player by Thursday’s deadline. Rod Graves, the Cardinals' vice president for football operations, said Wednesday the team might not be inclined to tag Boston because it might not want to guarantee him the $5.1 million contract necessary given his off-field problems.

Updating an earlier story, the Arizona Cardinals have announced the team will not place either the franchise or transitional tags on WR David Boston. Vice president of player personnel Rod Graves said the team has offered a long-term deal to Boston and the sides have yet to reach an agreement. Both sides will meet Thursday night for further negotiations.

SuperDuper

Updating earlier stories, the AP reports the NFL's competition committee reviewed the possible change of the overtime structure. So far, there has been little support for changing the format from committee members. No consensus has been reached at this time. The committee will hold more formal hearings in March.

Updating previous reports, the Baltimore Sun reports the Baltimore Ravens will meet with the agent for QB Jeff Blake this weekend at the NFL Combine in hopes of signing him before he becomes an unrestricted free agent Feb. 28.
