The Broncos would have to free up $9.26 million in cap room to absorb the immediate hit they would take if they were to trade Griese. "We've had a number of conversations with Roosevelt Barnes," GM Terry Bradway said of Coles' agent. "An offer was made and rejected. At this point, Laveranues plans on coming back and playing for the tender. He's made a decision to bet on himself. I thought we made a pretty good offer. Nobody's mad."

The Ravens are offering a deal worth about $2 million (which includes a $1 million signing bonus) this season, and Blake is seeking a contract that pays closer to $5 million if incentives are met. The biggest roadblock is an incentives package, which typically is based on yardage, playing time and team victories, that could tack on nearly $3 million to the first year of the contract.
