The AP reports free agent RB Emmitt Smith (Cowboys) is contemplating his next move. "Let's just say there's been some confirmed interest from teams," Werner Scott, Smith's business manager, said Friday. "I think he has a good feeling of the things he'd like to look at in terms of where his next place of employment will be." Smith probably will set two conditions for his next team: He would like to go to a winner and he would like to play a lot.

Updating an ongoing story, Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com the Washington Redskins and free agent G Randy Thomas (Jets) have agreed to a blockbuster seven-year, $28 million contract which includes a $7 million signing bonus. The deal will be signed later Friday evening.

PhiladelphiaEagles.com reports the Philadelphia Eagles have traded CB Al Harris and a fourth-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft to the Green Bay Packers for the Packers second-round pick in the April NFL Draft. "We thank Al for the nice job that he did over the last five years in Philadelphia," said head coach Andy Reid. "We'll always be grateful to him for his efforts and we know he'll do a good job for Green Bay."

BuffaloBills.com reports the Buffalo Bills announced they have acquired TE Mark Campbell from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a future conditional draft pick.
The Cleveland Browns confirmed the draft pick acquired from the Buffalo Bills for TE Mark Campbell is an undisclosed 2004 draft pick. "Mark was a good player for us and was an enjoyable player to coach," Head Coach Butch Davis said.

Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com the Carolina Panthers are close to re-signing QB Rodney Peete to a three-year, $4 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $500,000. In addition to the signing bonus, Peete will collect a roster bonus of $500,000 and the base salaries for each of the three years of the new deal are $1 million. The contract figures to also include some "makeable" incentives.

According to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com, the Dallas Cowboys will not pursue free agent RB Stephen Davis (Redskins). Coach Bill Parcells really isn't as keen on Davis as many outsiders have suggested. "(Parcells) isn't going to get into the emotional deal with (the Redskins)," said one source. "That doesn't mean anything to him. It might raise the ante with some people around here, but he certainly isn't one of them."

According to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com, if the Baltimore Ravens don't re-sign QB Jeff Blake, the Arizona Cardinals may jump into the race to sign him.
