The NY Post reports free agent TE Dan Campbell (Giants) will visit with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. He knows if remains with the New York Giants he will always be No. 2 to starting TE Jeremy Shockey. Negotiations with the Giants have not gone particularly well; they want to pay him as a role player and he wants to investigate if another team will pay him like a starter.

John Clayton reports for ESPN.com it appears the Denver Broncos are the next stop for free agent DT Daryl Gardener (Redskins). No deal has been finalized and as noted earlier, Gardener is expected to visit the Broncos next week.

He is in the process of scheduling other teams following his Tuesday visit with the Texans. The Carolina Panthers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are among other teams interested in Davis. also ist es jetzt wohl doch endgültig amtlich:

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports Philadelphia Eagles may have no other choice than to shop QB A.J. Feeley to other teams. In the final year of his contract, Feeley has said before that he would like to remain an Eagle, even as a backup. If the team offers him a first-round tender he would make over $1 million a year, or the team could give him a low tender and would receive a fifth-round draft choice if another team signs Feeley.

Updating previous stories, Nick Cafardo, of the Boston Globe, reportsn Atlanta Falcons president Ray Anderson said after the free agency cloud clears, the team would still be interested in having WR Shawn Jefferson return. Jefferson seems to have different thoughts though. ''Part of me feels my work is done there,'' he said

Ashley Ambrose - CB, Atlanta Falcons March 3, 2:05 a.m.
Ambrose, born and raised in New Orleans, on Sunday agreed to a four-year, $8 million contract with the Saints that includes a $1.5 million signing bonus.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Troy Hambrick - RB, Dallas Cowboys March 2, 10:45 p.m.
With Emmitt Smith gone, Hambrick moves to the top of the Cowboys' depth chart at running back. At 6-1, 233 pounds, Hambrick has the size coach Bill Parcells traditionally has preferred, but the front office isn't sure Hambrick can be trusted. He has lost focus at times and missed blocking assignments. Hambrick might thrive in a situation in which he doesn't feel like he has to make a play every time he touches the ball and without Smith's shadow looming over him. Still, the Cowboys might opt to fill the void by signing a less-expensive free agent, such as Tyrone Wheatley or Stacey Mack. (Jean-Jacques Taylor/TSN)
Fantasy Spin: Keep an eye on this. If Hambrick goes into the season as the starter, he probably is a solid No. 2 fantasy back. If he remains a backup, he might not be worth a roster spot in some leagues.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lamar Gordon - RB, St. Louis Rams March 2, 10:40 p.m.
Trung Canidate's departure makes Gordon, who had fumbling problems of last season, as Marshall Faulk's top backup. It also means the team almost certainly will select a running back at some point in the draft. (Jim Thomas/TSN)
Fantasy Spin: That doesn't sound all that promising. Gordon could be a good bench back for Faulk owners next season, but we likely won't know for sure until well into training camp. Stay tuned.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ed McCaffrey - WR, Denver Broncos March 2, 10:30 p.m.
Yes, McCaffrey will be 35 this season, and yes, he suffered that gruesome broken leg in 2001. But he says he feels better now than he has in three years. His work ethic, blocking skills and great hands make him indispensable. There's speculation he'll lose his starting job to Ashley Lelie. Don't bet on it. Lelie might have explosive, big-play potential, but he isn't the steady force McCaffrey is. (Patrick Saunders/TSN)

The Tennessean reports agent Michael Todd is trying to convince the Tennessee Titans they should go after free agent WR Oronde Gadsden (Miami) instead of free agent Kevin Dyson (Titans) or any other available receivers on the market. Based on one conversation he has had with Titans GM Floyd Reese, Todd believes the Titans could be interested. Reese said he has received a booklet, which includes photographs, statistics and quotes about Gadsden, as well has his career highlights. "Oronde beats Kevin Dyson in every category by at least 10 percentage points," said Todd.

According to Pete Prisco of SportsLine.com, the Buffalo Bills may be readying an offer sheet to free agent LB Takeo Spikes (Bengals). They feel that if they structure a deal the right way, the Bengals might not match the offer. The Arizona Republic reports free agent QB Jake Plummer (Cardinals) is visiting with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday.

The St. Petersburg Times reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Brad Johnson is not happy, according to agent Phil Williams. Willing to restructure his contract to help the Bucs, Johnson was surprised to discover the team removed $1.5 million in guaranteed salary in 2004 from their proposal. The omission not only killed the deal, it left Johnson wondering what commitment the team has to him beyond next season. Now the Bucs now are struggling to find money to re-sign their free agents. Johnson is scheduled to earn $5.5-million in salary next season and would have received a $4.745-million signing bonus, lowering his base pay to the veteran minimum of $755,000.

Bill Williamson reports for the Pioneer Press the Minnesota Vikings could talk to the New Orleans Saints about a NFL Draft day trade. The Vikings are interested in trading down from the No. 7 pick to compile picks. The Saints, who reportedly want to move up, have two first-round picks.

The Journal Sentinel reports free agent LB Charlie Clemons (Saints) arrived in Green Bay Sunday night for a Monday visit with the Green Bay Packers. He will undergo physical testing and meet members of the coaching staff Monday. "There's not many linebackers who can go out and get 13 1/2 sacks," said Clemons' agent, Brooks Henderson. "He's very productive rushing the passer, and I know Green Bay likes that."
