Donald Hayes - WR, New England Patriots Feb. 17, 11:34 a.m.
The Boston Herald reports that Hayes refused to take a pay cut, so the Pats will release him Thursday. Hayes caught just 12 passes last year after 118 receptions in his previous two seasons combined.
Fantasy Spin: Hayes disappeared in New England, and a change of scenery should help. The Patriots' passing game is based on small, quick receivers, not big, physical ones like Hayes. He could produce elsewhere and be a fantasy bench player again. (Rob Hurtt/TSN)

Updating previous reports, ESPN.com reports St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz told a St. Louis television station Sunday that QB Kurt Warner will be the team’s starter next year. Martz said he is confident Warner is over the injury problems he suffered through last season. “Kurt’s our quarterback and Marc (Bulger) will back him up,” Martz told KPLR-TV. “They are not competing for the job, per se.”
The New England Patriots are interested in Davis, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. Davis, who is expected to be released by Washington later this month, has expressed an interest to play for Dallas and Tampa Bay as well. Depending on where he signs, Davis could return to elite Fantasy status in 2003

Noch mehr News from Davis
Feb 17 The Patriots are expected to pursue running back Stephen Davis, who will be cut by the Washington Redskins this offseason, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported. Davis, who turns 29 on March 1, led the NFC in rushing in 2001 but did not fit into Steve Spurrier's system last season. The Patriots are reportedly looking to make an upgrade over current starter Antowain Smith.

Views: We expect a number of teams to show interest in Davis, who still has plenty left in his tank. Stephen's workhorse style would definitely fit into New England's system, and we'll consider the Patriots a contender at this point.

Der Junge wird ja richtig heiss
